TL;DR – My Homeworld CE box is arriving today!
OK, so it’s kitchey to pay extra for a mothership USB lamp… Whatever. Mostly, I’m supporting a franchise that his died out and is trying to be resurrected. They didn’t think there would be THAT much demand for the collector’s edition, so I missed out on the US and CA versions, but was able to get the UK edition.
Obviously, Amazon Prime UK isn’t 2-day deliver to me, but I didn’t know exactly what to expect. There was a weather delay, but no other updates from Amazon other than the due-date being yesterday.
First, putting in a UK tracking number into google.co.uk does not automatically figure out where to pull it up. This is shock to me, since in my privileged US life, I can do this for USPS, UPS, and FedEx in the US.
Next, I tried Royal Mail who had no knowledge of the tracking number… oh, it’s 14 digits instead of 13. Hrmmm. Luckily, Amazon.co.uk DOES tell me it was from i-Parcel, if I cared to look more closely.
i-Parcel is a subcompany of UPS, and the last update is 03/03. The delay getting to customs was due to weather in the UK, but where is the rest of the tracking? Oh, up top, in the middle of a paragraph, it says it becomes UPS Mail Innovations, and links to the new tracking number. The UPS portion stops at the post office on 03/04. On the same page (luckily), the USPS tracking number and information is shown it’s out for delivery today!
